Memories
It's frustrating how inept our memory is. Memories are great, but they are just tastes, tastes of what happened, tastes of the past, like being in the middle of a dream. The things we experience we cannot relive, but maybe it is better this way. Maybe the fact that memories are imperfect and incomplete, makes us want to experience more, and accumulate more of them. It's easy to take a defeatist approach and say that all experiences will soon be forgotten thus, are not worth experiencing, but that's stupid, because then we would never do anything. Life is meant for the accumulation of these tastes of events so that at the end of it we may have a delectable flavor of a life well-lived, of stuff worth writing about. That is what I want my life to be. Taking risks and making memories on Christ's behalf. Because in the end, we only remember the highlights of events that progress into highlights of life, so let's keep making highlights.
